What is a UFI and where does it come from?
A UFI is a 16-character code (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) that links your product to the formulation notified to ECHA. It must appear on the label of every mixture subject to notification. It is derived from your VAT number and a formulation number you choose — ChemReady generates it for you and keeps the same code on the label and in the dossier.
Does ChemReady submit to ECHA for me?
Not today — and we say so plainly. The platform prepares a complete PCN dossier, generates the UFI and labels, verifies the ECHA connection in test mode and validates completeness. Production submission is switched off at platform level and you file the dossier yourself on your own ECHA account. During the pilot we walk through it with you. If someone promises you automatic one-click notifications, ask them for proof.
Does ChemReady author Safety Data Sheets (SDS)?
No. Your raw-material supplier or a chemical consultant provides the SDS. We work from those sheets — reading them, generating the UFI, preparing the PCN dossier and label drafts. If you need a sheet written from scratch, we will say so on the first call and point you in a direction, but it is not our service.
Do I need an SDS to start?
To reach a complete dossier, yes — the sheet is the source of composition and classification. To start the conversation, no. We begin with what you have; often one supplier sheet is enough to show you where you actually stand and what is missing. If you have no sheets at all, collecting them from suppliers is the first step and we help with that too.
Can I notify a product if I do not have a UFI yet?
Yes — a UFI is not something you need to bring with you. It is created while preparing the notification and we generate it. If a UFI was already assigned earlier, for example by a consultant, you enter the existing code and we work with it so it does not drift from labels already in print.
Do I need my own ECHA account and S2S keys?
Eventually yes — the ECHA Submission Portal account always belongs to the company placing the mixture on the market, which is yours. That is a legal requirement, not our choice. You do not need it on day one, though: the dossier, UFI and labels can be prepared first. We guide you step by step through creating the account and configuring the keys during onboarding.
Does this work outside Poland?
The PCN obligation comes from the CLP Regulation, so it is common across the EU, and the dossier format (PCN/IUCLID) is the same. The panel is available in English and Polish, and our onboarding is currently hands-on. If you sell into several Member States, say so on the first call: we will show you what is shared and what needs a separate step per country. We do not promise "five markets in one click".
How long does onboarding take?
It depends on how many safety data sheets you have, not on the software. The first call takes 20–30 minutes. If the sheets are complete, sorting out your first product together with its UFI and label is usually a single session. If sheets are missing, onboarding takes as long as collecting them from suppliers — that is the usual bottleneck.
Do you help with the first notification?
Yes, and at this stage we do it personally — we do not leave you alone with the panel. First onboardings run as a guided pilot: we go through the first product, sheet, UFI, label and dossier together. It is part of getting started, not a separately priced extra.
What if I am missing something?
That is a normal starting point and not a reason to wait. Missing sheets, no ECHA account, no formulation number, labels designed without room for a UFI — all of it can be sorted out. On the first call you get a concrete list of gaps in the order they need closing. If something cannot be done, we say so straight away.
What happens if my supplier updates their SDS?
A new version of a sheet can change the composition, and a changed composition means a new formulation number and a new UFI. If you do not reflect that, the code on your label no longer matches the formulation notified to ECHA — and penalties for breaching CLP obligations are substantial across the EU. In ChemReady you upload the new version and see what changed and which products are affected. You always approve the update yourself.
What about national chemical enforcement inspections?
Any company placing a mixture on the market can be inspected — health inspectorates, market surveillance bodies or dedicated chemicals offices, depending on the Member State. What ChemReady gives you is that the documentation is in one place and internally consistent: current sheet, formulation, UFI, label and dossier hold together instead of sitting in email threads. You answer from documents rather than from memory.
How do I cancel?
From the billing panel, with no "give us another chance" emails. Cancelling means no renewal — it does not shorten the period you have paid for. Your service runs unchanged until the end of that period and you pay nothing more. After the contract ends the account switches to read-only for
five years: you keep access to your products and dossiers and can still download documents that were already produced. Your full company data set can be exported at any time from account settings. Notifications already filed with ECHA sit on your own account and remain yours whether or not you use ChemReady. See the

Are you an EU company? What about GDPR?

Privacy Policy, and a data processing agreement (DPA) is available for business customers. One point of contact — I answer every email personally.
Who is liable if ECHA rejects a submission?
The company placing the mixture on the market — you — is responsible for the substance of the data: composition, CLP classification, product category. We are responsible for the technical side: correct dossier format and preparation. You review and approve before anything is filed. If a rejection stems from an error on our side, we fix it at no extra charge — that is how we work, not a contractual entitlement. The contractual limits of liability are set out in the
